Raw turmeric is dried version of a fresh turmeric. When it is fresh, it appears as a bright orange root-like stem. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine since ancient times for its properties, like antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. The conditions that can be effective treated using turmeric are inflammation, infection and skin conditions. Raw Turmeric can be turned into turmeric powder at home using a mixer grinder. The turmeric powder is added to almost all curries and gravies to add yellow colour and warmth. The dried raw turmeric is made by peeling, boiling and then drying rhizomes. It can be ground into powder used in cup of hot milk, marinades, pickles, salads, etc.
